bol EPR Requirements: Belgium & Netherlands Seller Guide

By BelComply · Published and sources checked: 18 October 2026

What should you check first?

Identify the sales country, product category and legal selling entity before submitting evidence in the platform’s requested fields. Platform acceptance and legal compliance are separate checks; one number does not cover every market and stream.

The platform’s published requirements

bol lists sales-rights checks for selected Belgian categories including electronics, batteries, tyres, mattresses and solar panels, plus batteries in the Netherlands.

Evidence depends on your role: a purchase invoice if not liable, scheme-enrolment proof for liable non-EU partners, or proof of individual contributions. bol identifies non-EU partners without a VAT number as needing a separate application rather than automatic approval.

Packaging: bol asks sellers to check registrations and gather material data. Its public PPWR page says large-scale registration checks are not yet active and does not provide a universal upload field or start date. bol handles the bol-branded shipping packaging it adds through Logistics via bol; sellers retain responsibility for their item packaging according to their role.

Your evidence checklist before and after submission

  1. Save the account notice and date; confirm the country, category and selling entity it concerns.
  2. Match names, identifiers and scope against authentic registration or scheme records. Never borrow another company’s evidence.
  3. Prepare packaging materials, weights and sales destinations; distinguish product packaging from fulfilment-added shipping packaging.
  4. Keep submission status and confirmation records. Correct source-record mismatches before resubmitting through the platform workflow.

Do these requirements apply to every seller?

These summaries concern the countries, categories and business roles described by the official page. Account access and notices can differ. An unpublished rollout date should not become a universal deadline. Assess packaging, batteries and electronics separately; GPSR is a separate product-safety service.
